CAN TIWA SAVAGE REGAIN HER CROWN THIS YEAR??

2015 marked the year Tiwa Savage took a back seat from the music industry as she took some much earned time out and welcomed her first born son, Jamil. Since the Mavin First Lady burst onto the Naija music scene in 2010 with her break out smash, "Kele Kele Love", she has worked tirelessly to rise up the ranks as Naija's undisputed hottest female.

In her first four years as a powerhouse female, she bagged numerous prestigious awards, including a MAMA for Best Female in 2014.

Fast forward to 2015, her departure from the scene saw the likes of Yemi Alade, Cynthia Morgan and Seyi Shay rise up the ranks to battle for that all elusive crown of Naija's hottest female.

2015 seemed to be very much Yemi's year as she was crowned Best Female at the MAMA's and toured the continent extensively off the back of her anthem, "Johnny".

Tiwa even congratulated Yemi on her MAMA's win on social media in July, in a respectable "handing over of her crown".

Not one to let motherhood slow her down, as soon as Tiwa gave birth in the UK, she returned to Nigeria to set up the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album, "R.E.D". The album was made available to stream for free on MTN Music in it's first 24 hours of release and became the most streamed album of all time on the music platform.

The first official video to drop was "African Waist" featuring none other than MAVIN CEO & uber producer, Don Jazzy. The song was met with luke warm reviews, despite Jazzy's midas touch and as usual the internet were not afraid to voice their views on her comeback track...with most not being too kind to Ms. Savage.

TIwa then followed up with her second official release from "R.E.D", this time featuring MTV BASE's hottest artist of 2015, Olamide. The video for "Standing Ovation" dropped less than three weeks after "African Waist" in what many saw as a rush move to get back some momentum.

The question is, can Tiwa regain her crown as Naija's Hottest Female in 2016? If not, who else is in the running to bag that coveted title...

Does Tiwa, in 2016, ultimately deserve a "Standing Ovation", only time will tell?
