Boy-bander Louis Tomlinson, 24, welcomed a baby son this week with his former flame, 23-year-old stylist Briana Jungwirth, People confirmed Friday.
“Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother,” their mutual friend told the mag when news of the pregnancy broke in July.
It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer.”
Tomlinson and Jungwirth dated briefly last spring following his split from ex-girlfriend Eleanor Calder, whom he dated for almost four years.
Fans congratulated the new parents on Twitter with the hashtag #WelcomeBabyTomlinson.
“Is that the patter of tiny feet?” the crooner’s stepdad, Mark Tomlinson, tweeted early Friday.
Tomlinson may get plenty of paternity leave, as the British foursome is reportedly making its indefinite hiatus a permanent split.
They did “not renew their recording contract,” a source told Us Weekly last month. “The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.
A rep for Tomlinson has not yet replied to the Daily News' request for comment.
