Jose Mourinho to take Manchester United job after gentleman's agreement
The Manchester Evening News say that the former Chelsea boss has agreed to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
Starsport reported this morning that Van Gaal would be sacked if the Red Devils lose to Shrewsbury in the FA Cup tomorrow.
MEN say that Mourinho is yet to sign anything at Old Trafford but he is confident that he has the job.
Yesterday Inter Milan director Bedy Moratti revealed that the Portuguese was heading back to the Premier League.
She said: "Mourinho to Inter? No, he’s happy now, he’s going to Manchester.
"Of course he’s always fantastic and we missed him as a person here."
Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes is said to be pushing for the ex-Inter gaffer to take over this season but United chief executive Ed Woodward would rather do the deal in the summer.
Woodward contacted Mourinho in the wake of the Red Devils' embarrassing 2-1 Europa League defeat to Dutch minnows Midtjylland on Thursday to check that he was still committed to the club.
