John Cena Can't Finish the Obstacle Course on American Grit, His New Fox Show

John Cena, host of Fox's crazy new reality competition America Grit, could never complete the Circus, a.k.a. the super-hard obstacle course that the elite athlete contestants must complete in their quest for $1,000,000.

"I would get smoked," he tells E! News' Will Marfuggi on the show's gorgeous Washington State set. "I would totally get smoked!"

The WWE superstar-slash-actor has been developing the show for a while, and it actually started out as a more philanthropy-focused series before turning into the competition it is today. The show features a cadre of military mentors as they coach said athletes through the physical and mental challenges.

"The competitors are all unique in their own right—what a diverse group of personalities we have and accomplishments we have," Cena says. "Military mentors is a different story. They are heroes—tried and true heroes. We have a US Navy Seal commander, we have an Army Ranger sniper…they are all awesome. They all motivate in their own way and they are very different personalities, but it's really cool to be around them all and see them at work."

Not only will they be competing against each other, they'll also have to work together if they want to get through the competition.

"They will face everything, and I mean that! It's not world's strongest man, it's not an Iron Man race and it's not a chess competition—it's all of them. It's not may the strongest man win, may the most endurance win, may the smartest person win—it's you have to show all of this in order to survive this."

As Cena puts it, "may the best team win!"
